Workaround on ‘For security reasons DTD is prohibited in this XML document’

While connecting AssistMyTeam Apps with Office 365 SharePoint Online, you might encounter the following error:

“For security reasons DTD is prohibited in this XML document. To enable DTD processing set the DtdProcessing property on XmlReaderSettings to Parse and pass the settings into XmlReader.Create method.”

The error above could be triggered due to many possible reasons. Please try the options below one by one:

Workaround 1: Are you using a 2nd router or a WiFi extender at your home?

Try without the WiFi extender or 2nd router and see if it makes a difference.

Workaround 2: Modify your local HOSTS file (located under C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc) and add the following entries:

127.0.0.1   msoid.<domain>.onmicrosoft.com
127.0.0.1   msoid.onmicrosoft.com

where <domain> is your domain name in Office 365. You should open the HOSTS file with notepad, and add the above 2 entries and save it.
