You are here:

You have downloaded and installed ‘Database Exporter for Outlook‘ successfully on your system. However, when you start Outlook and tried using the app, you may get the following error:

Database Exporter for Outlook: Version 5.0.11.275
In Outlook version: 15
At Line: 4
In Function: Helper.StartRedemption
Source:
Exception Number: -2147220998
Exception Description: Wrong OS or OS version for application (Exception from HRESULT: 0x800401FA (CO_E_WRONGOSFORAPP))
OS:6.2.9200.0 (Win32NT)
Module Version: Version 5.0.11.275

The error happens if you have installed the wrong setup of Database Exporter add-in on your system. For instance, if you have 32 bit Outlook on a 64 bit Windows, you might had downloaded and installed the 64 bit Database Exporter setup in trying to match the bit-ness of your Windows OS. However, the Windows OS bit has no play here. We have provided 32 bit and 64 bit setups of Database Exporter because your Microsoft Office/Outlook can be either 32 bit or 64 bit. You should match the bit-ness of the Office/Outlook and not the Windows OS.

For example, If your Outlook is 32 bit, you should download the x86 setups. (and x64 setups if your Outlook is 64 bit). It does not matter if your Windows OS is 32 bit or 64 bit. Refer below, it is clearly mentioned which setup is for which Outlook version/bit.

Outlook 2010, 2013 and 2016 can be 32 bit or 64 bit on a 64 bit OS. So, if your OS is 64 bit, but Outlook is 32 bit, you should download and install the x86 setup.

After you have downloaded the correct setup type from here , shutdown Outlook, and uninstall the wrong ‘Issue Tracker’ from your system (via Control Panel > Programs and Features) and then run the setup.exe to re-install the correct one.

If you are not quite sure if your Outlook is 32 bit or 64 bit, refer to this KB article to find out
