If you are using MS SQL Server for the database and have not selected “Integrity Security” option when configuring it with Team Helpdesk Manager tool, one important aspect to consider is the accessibility scenario for other technicians from different systems.

From a system where the Team Helpdesk Manager tool is installed, goto Team Helpdesk Manager menu > Settings > Database Settings. In the database connection dialog, if “Integrated Security‟ (also known as Windows Authentication, or NTLM authentication) is unchecked, then it is very important that the particular SQL user account you use here, is usable by all technicians from different systems. This is because, this database information is saved globally on the exchange server (i.e, under DBSettings post item under Team Helpdesk Settings subfolder), and will be used by every Team Helpdesk Client and Manager systems. This is not an issue if you use integrated security option.

We recommend that you create or configure a special SQL account that all your technicians can use to logon automatically to the database with the Team Helpdesk Agent tool.

Another option is to use an access database instead. As Team Helpdesk system only uses the database to store drop down lists, email templates and other global settings, the database size is not going to grow that much over time (because no cases will be stored on the database). All you need to do with access database option is to use a shared network folder where the MDB file will be located.
